Westwords 2027 Hiatus

Dear Westwords solvers and friends,

Several months past our third fantastic tournament in a row, we are looking ahead to next year, and we’ll get straight to the point: Westwords will be on hiatus in 2027, owing to various other obligations of work and life for each of our directors in the coming months. We know that some solvers have come to depend on our holding an event in June—it’s such an honor and privilege to be able to say that!—so although this is sad news, we hope it's helpful for planning purposes.

Fortunately for crossword lovers, 2027 is shaping up to be the busiest tournament year yet. You can view a complete list of events, including details such as whether remote participation is offered, in this lovingly maintained spreadsheet.

In the meantime, all of the Westwords puzzle packs continue to be available for purchase on our website. Thank you so much for your support!
